Advisory Board Member

birdSEED Housing Justice Fund | Washington, DC

As the first and only student member on birdSEED’s advisory board, I review grant applications and interview candidates for funding that supports BIPOC homeownership in the D.C. region. Since February 2024, I have participated in decisions helping allocate resources that have supported multiple families in becoming homeowners.

Student Leader

Bank of America Program, United Way | Washington, DC |

An immersive leadership program pairing high school students with nonprofit organizations. I worked full-time during summer 2025 with United Way of the National Capital Area supporting ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) populations through community outreach and data analysis.

Web Intern, Housing Media

Street Sense Media, Homelessness Street Paper | Washington, DC

D.C.’s only newspaper focused on housing justice and homelessness advocacy, written by and for people experiencing housing insecurity. As a web publishing intern from January 2025 to June 2026, I posted and formatted stories to the platform—amplifying marginalized voices often excluded from mainstream media. I published over 500+ articles to the site.

During the summer of 2024, I worked with Lydia’s House, a D.C. nonprofit supporting housing access for women and families. I streamlined certification processes for the Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP), gaining direct exposure to how housing access systems and public service delivery mechanisms work.

Founder & President

A student discussion group at St. Albans School exploring housing policy, social equity, and D.C.’s affordable housing challenges. Founded in fall 2024, the club created a space for students to discuss local housing issues and learn more about the challenges facing communities across D.C.

Affordable Housing Tutor

Affordable Housing Communities | Washington, DC

During fall 2023, I tutored elementary students in an after-school program supported by a local housing organization, working directly with children in affordable housing communities.

Critical Exposure | Washington, DC

From fall 2023 through early 2024, I participated in Critical Exposure, a D.C.-based youth program using photography as a tool for social change. Through storytelling and public exhibitions, the program connects visual art to social justice advocacy.
